Baby news...only 8 weeks late!!

For some reason I have been soooo very busy (cuddling, kissing, and loving all that is baby) that I haven't got around to blogging the news about the newest member of our family.

Ethan was born at 10.29am on the 3rd of October.

Thankful

Lately it has been really easy to focus on the negatives/tough times going on for me, but today I am putting all my energy into what I am grateful for...

I am 35 weeks pregnant with what appears to be a healthy, active, baby boy!! What a blessing!!

Yesterday my local church gifted us with more delicious frozen meals.

My lovely friend Simone made a surprise visit armed with a meal, magazine, spring flowers and treats for the kids.

In the post we got a $30 one card rewards voucher (great timing).

Another friend picked up Lucy from school saving me another slow, crutches 'walk' into school.

My husband is amazing and is working so hard both at work and at home...so thankful for him x

Rangi finally got enough toilet tokens to get a reward...this boy will be toilet trained (hopefully before high school!!).

And YAY it is spring tomorrow!

So with all I have to complain about, all the above outweighs the negative (just need to remember to focus on it more!!)

What a pain

So I've spent the last couple of days hobbling round like an old lady.

Baby Spice has decided to cause me quite a bit of sciatic pain. I know this is not unusual for preggo mumma's but it is not easy. My two kiddos have been left to fend for themselves after school and kindy. Helping themselves to snacks and watching huge amounts of tv (whatever works parenting strategy).  Hubby is taking over ALL other tasks, thank God for a great husband!

All the while I wait to hear from the hospital physios re my referral (please let them call tomorrow).

My dog wants to comfort me and is currently laying beside my 'bed', shame he smells like a dog!  I'm sleeping downstairs in the lounge so I can safely make it to the loo and not disturb the rest of the Whanau with my unrestful sleep.

At least I know all will return to normal-ish once I have baby. Right?!?!

Another pregnant post ...

Being pregnant at my ripe old age of 37 (almost 38) is not a breeze - well not for me anyway!

I love love LOVE the bubba kicks and wiggles - that is my most fav thing about being pregnant.

I love how my kids love the bump in my belly. Singing songs, whispering secrets, tickling, kissing, cuddling. Bubble has even fallen asleep a few times with her hand resting on my belly enjoying the movement.

I love that my husband is patient with me as I hormonally break down over silly things. I love that he picks up the slack with things I don't have the energy for.

I am not so much in love with the reflux (chronic this time!!), aching back and hips, lack of clothes to fit my ever expanding body (I am well past my previous full-term weight), difficulty sleeping, and other preggo nasties.

I am 30+ weeks, so really not long to go at all. We started work on the baby's 'room' in the weekend (his 'room' is an oversized walk-in wardrobe that was never finished so is large enough for a cot, large set of drawers and all other baby paraphernalia). I have started sorting through baby clothes that have been in storage for three years...there is a lot of washing to do!!

Mum and Dad come up in a couple of weeks and a bringing baby clothes and bits and pieces from friends in CHCH. Think my Dad is cringing every time I call wondering how the heck he will fit everything into the ute.

My girlfriend is coming up in September to help me with organising baby stuff and to help cook up a storm and fill the freezer. Am so looking forward to having a few days hanging out with my friend (we have been friends since high school).
